A key feature of the GAC is that it can be delivered in different modes.
The standard full-time program is taken over a 9-month period (3 levels by 12 weeks).
A second mode is the concurrent model whereby students study the GAC at the same time as they study their regular high school curriculum. For example, students study GAC Level 1 in Year 10, GAC Level 2 in Year 11 and GAC Level 3 in Year 12.
The circumstances of each school are different so it may be possible for students to complete the GAC in a shorter time. The advantage of this mode is that when the students graduate from their high school, they also graduate from the GAC and have an ACT® test score.
An individualized program of delivery is designed for each school to ensure that each school's circumstances, such as time-tabling and teacher availability, are taken into consideration. Due to the flexibility of delivery modes, the GAC can be adapted to suit most schools' situations.
The GAC includes lectures, seminars, tutorials, group work, class discussion, and presentations. Regular assessments, assignments, teacher feedback, and examinations will enable students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. As the language of instruction is English, students will be expected to speak in English at all times in the classroom. Students will also receive academic counseling and enrollment guidance during their studies.
