"We Chinese students do not know how to make presentations and write essays, but we must get used to this because at university in Australia we often have to do these kinds of assessments. The GAC gave me lots of opportunities to learn and practise these skills. I had to do English and computing presentations where I learnt how to present in front of people and how to use PowerPoint. We also practised essay writing and learnt about the seriousness of plagiarism and how to avoid it, as well as how to get higher marks for writing. All this has helped with university study. The statistics component of the GAC course prepared me well for many accounting subjects.
