The first ever fair showcasing US and Cambodian educational organizations is set to take place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia this weekend, 7th and 8th April.
According to organizers Ruwan Hulugalle & Company (RHC), the fair could attract 10,000 targetted Cambodians keen on improving their future and the future of their country.
US university particants are to include Northern Arizona University, University of San Francisco, University of Central Missouri, California State University at Long Beach, Savannah College of Art and Design, Southern New Hampshire University, Webster University, and GAC Pathway University the University of Redlands. Education USA and the USA Embassy are among the other sponsors. Speakers from Education USA and the USA Embassy will also take part in informative panel discussions.
The event, to be held at Diamond Island Exhibition Center, will provide a fun and festive atmosphere for young Cambodians to find out about educational opportunities in Cambodia and the US. It takes place following several Education USA-sponsored regional events.
Cambodia needs to improve its human resources to further economic development and reduce poverty. However, the Cambodian market has until now been little explored by American education institutions.
Young Cambodians – and there are many of them – are keen to find high quality education but unsure of the range of opportunities or how to take part. According to RHC, approximately 65 per cent of Cambodia’s population is young or young adults still taking part in education.
AES is pleased to have this opportunity to promote the ACT test and AES programs, plus meet with local universities and private high schools to discuss potential partnerships. For further information , go to www.cambodiaeducation.us.
